Hometown Heroes

It recently occurred to John to call a friend of his who is part owner of a (relevant) business here in town. Although he has not worked for them, John has worked with them before, and they like him enough to try to open a spot for him within their company. Given the current market, I'm not sure that they will be able to come through with a position that would allow us to stay here, but...
