Even in a hole, the sun still occasionally shines.

I was in a parking lot downtown (or as downtown as we have) today. There, I saw a couple and their two young children. Because it is suddenly bitterly cold here today, I had my windows up, and didn't hear their interactions. Their body language told me what was going on however.

The mother was angry, her arms crossed over her chest, and she wasn't making eye contact with the father. He wore a rather exasperated look as he grabbed a small jacket out of the trunk of the car and handed it to the woman. Both boys were wandering aimlessly in small circles. And I could just tell that this was the trade-off. Thanks to some irreconcilable difference between the two adults, the children were now spending their time between the homes of two people who love them, but not each other anymore.

And I thought to myself that it could always be worse. John may have been laid off again, but we still have each other... and the cutest kid on the planet.

you are so right Marly. When life gives us lemons make lemonade. You and John are wonderful parents and you do have a handsome lil man. After all he is my second son.

I'm sad for that other family you mentioned. :(

Great outlook for you though! Way to go. It's so easy to miss out on the silver lining, so I'm proud of you for finding it. Keep it up!!

Oh, I remember when our meetings were like that! I hope 1 day they can overcome their differences!

Glad you are still looking for the brightness in life, is always there, sometimes we just overlook it!

I love you and am praying for you. And you are so right. My dad told me one time that no matter what is going on, to look at it as the world against the two of you or the two of you against the world or whatever, but never the two of you against each other. Take care!
